Kathmandu, the ancient settlement of Nepal is religiously very rich city. She has many famous places related to Buddhist and hindu deities. Karunamaya, also known as Avalokiteshor is very famous Boddhisattva in India, Nepal, China, Tibet, Mongolia, Korea and Japan. Around four directions of Kathmandu, there are four temples of Karunamaya.

The four famous temples of Karunamaya are Janabaha deo at Janabaha ( north direction),
Bunga deo at Bungmati (South), Adinath at Chovar (South) and Nala Karunamaya at Nala ( East). Karunamaya means full of compassion. So, Karunamaya Bodhisattava is bodhisattva with fullest compassion.
